The artwork depicts a skull with devil horns on a blood-red background. It symbolizes temptation - something that appears alluring, humorous, even irresistible - but is ultimately deceptive and dangerous. The black skull represents the dark side within us, the voice that smiles and whispers, “It’s not that bad.” The horns represent conscious choice - we often know something is wrong, yet we feel drawn to it.
The theme is built on contrast - between the inviting smile and red passion versus the void and danger of blackness.
The piece is made from extruded polystyrene. Each layer is hand-cut and stacked to create a 3D effect. Resin-based paints with a matte finish give the work its bold and clean appearance.
Red conveys passion, danger, energy, and seduction. The black skull and horns embody darkness and deliberate wrongdoing. The white teeth highlight the illusion of innocence.
